Zesty Sausage Bundt

November 10th, 2008

Ingredients

18 frozen dinner rolls, thawed but still cold
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup fresh thyme, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh rosemary, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 pound sausage, cooked, crumbled, drained

Directions

Flatten each roll into a 4-inch circle. Place butter in a shallow bowl. Combine herbs and cheese and place in a shallow bowl. Coat each dough circle with butter and then with the herb-cheese mixture. Arrange 6 dough circles evenly in a large sprayed bundt pan, to cover the bottom. Circles will overlap. Sprinkle half the cooked sausage over dough. Repeat with 6 more dough circles and the remaining sausage. Add last 6 dough circles to the top to cover sausage. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until almost doubled. Remove wrap and bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Cover with foil last 10 minutes of baking. Remove from oven and invert immediately onto serving platter.

1 chocolate fudge cake mix (German chocolate cake will work too)
1 small package of instant chocolate pudding
1 cup of sour cream
1/2 cup of oil
1 cup of water
4 eggs
2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips (I went for milk chocolate)

Beat together all ingredients, adding chocolate chips last.
Pour into a well-greased bundt cake pan.
Bake at 350 degress for 1 hour.

Cousin Joe’s Sanpete Turkey

August 11th, 2008

I received this recipe that works for turkey and chicken from a co-worker of mine and it is delicious.

5 lb turkey (sliced about 1/4 inch thick, it’s pretty easy when it is
partially frozen)
2 cup squirt (the soda)
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder

Mix up the marinate good, then add fowl.
Marinate for 24 hours — I like to marinate for a couple of days, and have for 5 or so. If you use chicken and/or marinate for more than 24 hours, lay off the garlic a little.

Sweet and Tangy Meatballs

March 1st, 2008

These meatballs were a hit at my last office potluck. I was late and lucky to get one! Everyone is familiar with the classic sweet and sour, so these meatballs were an unexpected savor. Think sweet and sour with too much sugar and no vinegar… alright, just read the recipe.

3/4 bag of Kirkland meatballs
1 jar of strawberry jam
1 bottle of Famous Dave’s Sweet and Saucy BBQ sauce
1/2 cup dijon mustard
2 small green peppers, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup lemon juice

Dump it all in a crockpot and cook until the meatballs are hot and the sauce boils. Serves 1 office, but not very well.
